Claims - Although the SLUC has welcomed guest from Claims over the years we dont seem to have actively encourage members from this area. The committee would like to address this and make the club every bit as attractive to claims as to the underwriters. The two disciplines are invariably linked and its difficult to imagine a claims topic that would not be of interest to underwriters and vice versa. Going forward we will actively pursue new membership from Claims, so if you’re from Claims then welcome and if not please pass this message on to any Claims teams in your area.
Name - To show our commitment to a claims and underwriting club, represented on an equal basis, we plan to rebrand and change the name of the club. The Scottish Life Underwriters Club will now be know as the Forum Of Claims & Underwriters Scotland (FOCUS). Thanks to Tony Fowler (RGA) for the name - a bottle of champagne from Medicals Direct is on the way to you.
Website - A new branded website is under construction. Details and web address to follow when available.
Membership - The committee are considering a single yearly company membership, allowing an unlimited number of guests from both underwriting and claims areas. No fee has been set as yet. If you have any comment on this please let us know. We will discuss at our next committee meeting.
